Mark Brocksmith has been entertaining audiences since 1997. He began his career at Youth Theater at the U, Youth Theater Conservatory ( formerly Theater School for Youth) in association with The University of Utah. Mark played several roles in High-School ranging from Babcock in "Mame" at Olympus High-School to King Leontes in "The Winters' Tale" at Highland High-School. After High-School, Mark went on to perform in "Spoon River Anthology" with Wasatch Theater Company, "1776" and "Big River" with Rogers Memorial Theater, "Julius Cesar" and "Lucia di Lamermoor" with The Utah Symphony and Opera, and Carl Wimmer, Senator Killpack and Mike Noel in "Saturdays Voyeur" with the Salt Lake Acting Company in 2010. Eve Garcia is proud to be performing with Wasatch Theatre Company, after being a fan for years. She played Falstaff and Paulina with New World Shakespeare, Queen Victoria, Mrs. Fezziwig, and General Cartwright at Hale Centre Theatre, The Chairman at The Empress, and Mrs. Lovett at Midvale Main Street Theatre. She has an MFA in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature in Performance from Mary Baldwin University. She and her handsome husband Antonio have two sons, Jaxon and Eddie, and two kitties, Rosa and Georgie. Rosa is named after Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn99, and Georgie is named after her favorite Beatle.
Élise Hanson is a playwright, actor, and theatre producer native to Bountiful, Utah. As an actor, notable roles include Hamlet in Hamlet (a role she has undertaken twice), Harper Pitt in Angels in America, Lucy Barker in Sweeney Todd, Nanny in Baby with the Bathwater, Tamora in Titus Andronicus, Beatrice in Kill Claudio!, Virginia Mayo in The Secret Son of Hitler, and Henry in Henry V. Hanson is a classically trained actor with a background in the Suzuki Method and certification in the Meisner Technique for actors.
Kartik is delighted to be part of Reluctant Hero, following his American theatre debut in Guys and Dolls. Originally from India, his passion for acting began in school plays and community performances and has continued through university training and independent film auditions in the United States. Fascinated by character-driven stories and the craft of performance, he hopes to keep growing as both a stage and screen actor. Outside the theatre, Kartik works as a Data Scientist for a nonprofit organization and enjoys working out, watching films, and spending time with his cats.
Jim Martin has an MFA in theatre arts from the University of Idaho at Moscow, where he continues to take classes to keep his knowledge and skills fresh. Jim started Wasatch in 1997 and continues as the Executive Director to this day. Jim dedicates this play to his amazing 89 year-old dad (also named Jim), his son Jayden, his dog Chuck and his two cats Misty and Milo for all their sacrifices. Miss you Rosie.
